Pinterest is the perfect place for photographers to showcase their work! It gives the opportunity for so many eyes to view your photos and give it the love it deserves. As a Social Media Manager, it is my job to put your content where it will do best, and for a photographer, your content is meant to be on Pinterest!
Here are the reasons Photographers need to be on Pinterest:
Increases Website Traffic
When people come across you, all they have to do is click the pin and BAM…they are at your website! No need for any more typing or searching in the bio.
Put yourself in the mind of a potential client. You see a beautiful photo! Who is the photographer of this beautiful photo? I want them to take photos of me!
The potential client clicks on the photo and WOW…they are at your website, eyes already on your packages. They only have to click once more to inquire!
The more clicking a potential client has to do to inquire, the less likely they are to make a purchase. Make it as easy as possibly!
Give those who come across you one less thing to do so that they can get to your website!
It’s a search engine
Pinterest is the 3rd largest search engine, right behind Google and YouTube.
This means that the Pinterest search bar holds a lot of power!
It also means that when people find you, they were most likely searching for you! They may not have been typing your name into the search bar but, they were typing ‘brand photographer’ or ‘wedding photographer’ in the search. If you have the correct keywords on your posts, you should come up!
Make sure you are the photographer that comes up when that search bar is used! The only way to do that is to be actively on the platform and utilizing keywords!
So Many People!
There are 433 million users on Pinterest! That is a lot of people that could possibly see your pins!
Of those 433 million users, about 40 million of them are using Pinterest to plan their wedding!
If you are a wedding photographer, this is prime real estate for your photos.
Get in the mind of a bride. If she sees an amazing photo that she wants to recreate, and that photo is yours, she is most likely going to save it and contact you! We want the best of the best on our wedding day, and that is you!
Unlike Instagram, Pins last about 6 month to 1 year!
Doesn’t that sound amazing!
The longevity of a post on Instagram is about 24 hours. Whereas for a pin, it’s anywhere from 6 months to 1 year!
That is a year of people viewing your pins and clicking on your link!
Pinterest does the heavy lifting so you don’t have to!
Now that you know some of the beautiful benefits of Pinterest, it’s time to start using it!
